Liverpool climbed up to fifth in the Premier League table as they outclassed Stoke City to a 3-0 win at the Bet365 Stadium on Wednesday.

Liverpool only had a slender one-goal lead for large parts of the match following Sadio Mane’s 17th minute opener, giving the hosts a glimmer of hope of a comeback. But, Mohamed Salah’s introduction reinforced the Reds’ dominion as the Egyptian scored a late brace to round off the win.

The match wasn’t without controversy though, as Simon Mignolet was let off easily for what seemed to be a blatant red card-worthy foul on Mame Biram Diouf in the first half. And Liverpool fans thanked their stars while also arguing that the Belgian’s error-strewn ways will soon catch up to him.

Mohamed Salah was the darling of the Liverpool fans once again after his late blitz ensured a comfortable win.

But, the hero on the night was Sadio Mane, who opened the scoring for Liverpool before setting up Salah for his first goal.

One fan summed it up quite nicely.
