Manchester United came back from two goals down to salvage a point against Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday.
Manchester United’s hopes of breaking into the top four of the Premier League took a further hit, as they played out a 2-2 draw against a lowly Southampton side this weekend.
Jose Mourinho’s men found themselves two goals down after only 20 minutes into the game, with Stuart Armstrong and Cedric Soares putting the home team in front with two brilliant strikes. However, the Red Devils struck back soon after, with Romelu Lukaku halving the deficit in the 33rd minute, before Ander Herrera levelled things up six minutes later.
Manchester United could not complete a turnaround though, as their search for a winner in the second half yielded little success. The result meant Mourinho’s men are now three games without a win in the league and are 16 points behind leaders and local rivals Manchester City. Naturally the fans weren’t pleased with the outcome of the game or the performance.
Another performance to forget from Manchester United. It's a season full of them.

Another dreadful and listless performance from Manchester United. It is December and they have a minus goal difference. Embarrassing against the 19th best side in the Premier League #mufc

Change is Needed. Manager and Player's #Mufc— Gèch David Beckham (@getaswhailu) December 1, 2018
I said this a few months ago, and I'll say it again: Manchester United need to fire Jose Mourinho – the earlier, the better.
This isn't about results or his antics. Not about his relationship with players or 'developing' them. Rather it's about ideas, philosophy & trajectory.

Manchester United – rotten to the core. Players, manager, owners. Disgrace.

Mourinho sprung a surprise with his team selection, fielding Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic starting as part of the three-man backline. Fair to say that it didn’t work out as the manager had anticipated and the fans were left baffled by the selection;
McTominay on the left, Phil Jones middle, and Matic on the right. No, this isn’t a midfield or attacking lineup, this is Manchester United’s defense today against Southampton.

What kinda lineup is this @ManUtd Matic at CB? Smh Mourinho keeps chopping & changing then will go ahead and blame the players like he hasn’t done enough to damage team chemistry already.
— Kobs (@Yg_Kobs) December 1, 2018
@ManUtd playing the kind of football you would expect from that lineup – trash

So that Manchester United lineup looks like a who's who of players who didn't rebel or say something to upset poor Mourinho after the last match.

Sometimes i really dont know who's getting everything wrong at Manchester United.
From Mourinho with his unconvincing lineups to the players with their lack of desire…..arggghhhhhh ??
— H4RRY (@LifeofTOBI) December 1, 2018
Did you let Southampton fans vote on the lineup?
— useless football stats (@epic720) December 1, 2018
All Mourinho wants is to be SACKED so that he can go and enjoy his MONEY. NOBODY can explain having Matic n Jones in defence and the poorest of attackers up front. No one!!! No manager would have this lineup. Whatever comeback they can have, this is POOR!!!. #MUFC #SOUMUN@ManUtd

Mourinho the loser one. @manutd played awful. Awful lineup. Shameful. Shameful that mourinho continues as manager. Sack him now. #mourinhoproblemnotsolution

Is @ManUtd afraid of letting Jose who lacks dynamism and plays defensively at all times in terms of starting 7 defensive minded players on the field today, no sign of improvement after 3yrs,no sense of direction #SackJose

Why drop Martial and Fred?
Why is McTominay starting?
Why is Matic playing?
Why is Rashford playing?
Why is Bailly still being punished for a bad game against Brighton?
So many unanswered questions.
Fans don't deserve this. @ManUtd#MourinhoOut #SOUMUN— Igbo Uzi Vert (@Iam_mc_harry) December 1, 2018
