Tottenham Hotspur came from a goal down to beat Southampton 4-1 on Wednesday. However, it was referee Mike Dean who ended up being a major talking point from the encounter

Supporters of Spurs’ rival, and Arsenal fans in particular, were quick to jump to claim that Mike Dean is a Tottenham supporter after he sent off Nathan Redmond for the first time in his career, for pulling down Dele Alli in the box.

It is also important to note how Dean has affected each of Spurs’ games he has officiated in this season. He has been appointed as the referee in three of the North London outfit’s games this season, in which he has sent off a player in each match, while awarding a penalty in two of them.

Arsenal fans were also quick to poke fun at Mike Dean, as he embraced Moussa Dembele before the Belgian’s substitution.

The annoyance was clear to see as one Arsenal supporter also directed a jibe towards Spurs’ official Twitter handle.
