Real Madrid extended their lead atop the La Liga table to five points as they ran out 3-0 winners over Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.
Real Madrid won a fourth game on the bounce when they hosted Alaves on Sunday, and the match saw them create a five-point lead over bitter rivals Barcelona, who play later on Sunday.
Karim Benzema broke the deadlock at the half-hour mark, as he scored from a sweetly struck left-footed volley after meeting Dani Carvajal’s pull back.
Isco doubled the advantage five minutes from the end of regulation time, thanks to a fine finish from an acute angle, before Nacho headed off the win after Gareth Bale’s fiercely struck free-kick was rebounded off the cross bar.
