Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reveals Barcelona ambitions

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed that he dreams of winning the UEFA Champions League and La Liga with Barcelona.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang spoke about various topics, including his ambitions with Barcelona. The former Arsenal captain revealed that he dreams of winning the UEFA Champions League and La Liga with the Catalan giants.

It was a transfer that Barcelona completed frantically in the final hours of Deadline Day of the winter transfer window. His signing was not even announced officially till a couple of days into February. But Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hit the ground running after joining the Blaugrana, making his mark just four games into his stint.

Aubameyang has scored three goals in four games for Barcelona and is already proving to be the missing link in their attacking unit. The 32-year-old recently produced a match-winning display for the Catalan giants, scoring a hat-trick in the win over Valencia on Sunday.

Following that performance, Aubameyang sat down with Mundo Deportivo and was quizzed on a variety of topics. One of the questions centred around his ambitions with Barcelona, starting with his thoughts on their UEFA Europa League campaign in the second half of the season.

Aubameyang said, “We are going to give everything and, personally, I am going to continue working as I have done since I arrived. I want to win games and I want to win this Europa League, so if we want to win it, we have to win this game [against Napoli].”

Aubameyang then spoke about his defeat in a Europa League final [against Chelsea in 2019] before revealing his ambitions with Barcelona. The Gabonese striker said, “Yes, I still have it nailed, so now I have another opportunity and also for us it is to go to the Champions League. My dream, though, is to win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona.”

Only time will tell whether Aubameyang can guide Barcelona back to the Champions League and win the Europa League this season. But if he can rediscover his best touch, the Blaugrana will be in for a joyful second half of the season.
