Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked with a move away from the club, with Manchester City interested.
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has now suggested that Premier League champions Manchester City could turn Morgan Gibbs-White’s head and convince him to join the club. Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson believes that links with Manchester City could be tempting for the playmaker, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
“It’s only a matter of time before he’s a regular in the England squad,” he told Football Insider. “His work rate off the ball, he never stops working, and in the position he plays he’d be a great signing for Manchester City.
“I could see a player like him fitting straight in at Man City. It’s going to be a tough one to do, especially if Forest get into the Champions League. I don’t think he’ll force a move, but it’s definitely a potential option when Man City are interested.
“Man City in recent times are a bigger club, they guarantee Champions League football almost every season and are competing at the top of the Premier League. If you get the opportunity, for a player like Gibbs-White, you put Man City in the bracket of one of the best teams in Europe.
“When a team like that comes knocking, they don’t come knocking very often, so if Man City are interested it’s certainly a head-turner for the player.”
The English playmaker has been excellent for Nottingham Forest this season, and he has 14 goal contributions. He has been a consistent performer in the Premier League, and there is no doubt that he is good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the country.
