Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked with a move away from the club, with Manchester City interested.

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has now suggested that Premier League champions Manchester City could turn Morgan Gibbs-White’s head and convince him to join the club. Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson believes that links with Manchester City could be tempting for the playmaker, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

It’s only a matter of time before he’s a regular in the England squad,” he told Football Insider. “His work rate off the ball, he never stops working, and in the position he plays he’d be a great signing for Manchester City.

“I could see a player like him fitting straight in at Man City. It’s going to be a tough one to do, especially if Forest get into the Champions League. I don’t think he’ll force a move, but it’s definitely a potential option when Man City are interested.

“Man City in recent times are a bigger club, they guarantee Champions League football almost every season and are competing at the top of the Premier League. If you get the opportunity, for a player like Gibbs-White, you put Man City in the bracket of one of the best teams in Europe.

“When a team like that comes knocking, they don’t come knocking very often, so if Man City are interested it’s certainly a head-turner for the player.”

The English playmaker has been excellent for Nottingham Forest this season, and he has 14 goal contributions. He has been a consistent performer in the Premier League, and there is no doubt that he is good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the country.

Manchester City need to replace Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City could use more creativity and depth in the middle of the park, especially with Kevin De Bruyne leaving the club in the summer. The Belgian international has announced that he will not renew his contract with Manchester City, and he will leave a gaping hole in the summer.

Gibbs-White will add creativity, technical ability, flair, and drive to the Manchester City midfield. He is young enough to improve further, and Pep Guardiola could help him fulfil his potential.

The opportunity to join Manchester City can be quite attractive for any player. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they have formidable resources. They have a world class squad at their disposal as well and they have been fighting for major trophies consistently.

Manchester City could help the midfielder compete in the Champions League next season and fight for major trophies. Regular football at the highest level could help him develop further and cement his place in the national team as well.

Nottingham have done quite well this season but they are no match for the Premier League champions and Manchester City certainly have the resources to get the deal across the line. It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds over the next few weeks.
