Oscar Damiani has told Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to sign 22-year-old French midfield prospect Khephren Thuram from OGC Nice.
In an interview with GianlucaDiMarzio.com, Oscar Damiani has revealed his relations with the Thuram family. The Italian agent is close to Lilian and has urged Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to pursue a move for Khephren Thuram next year.
Damiani said, “Where would I see Khéphren well? At Real Madrid. I recommended him to Carlo Ancelotti.”
Khephren Thuram is one of the best young midfielders in the world. The 22-year-old spent his formative years with Olympique de Neuilly, AC Boulogne-Billancourt, and AS Monaco before graduating from the principality club’s academy. But he rose to prominence after joining OGC Nice.
The French international joined OGC Nice from AS Monaco on a free transfer in July 2019. Thuram has turned out nearly 150 times thus far for Nice, chipping in with eight goals and 11 assists. Meanwhile, the youngster has also broken into his national team, making one appearance for Les Bleus.
Thuram’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Recent reports have linked him with many Premier League bigwigs and Serie A heavyweights. But Damiani has suggested the Frenchman as an ideal target for Real Madrid, telling Carlo Ancelotti to secure his services.
Real Madrid will likely lose at least one of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos next year, if not both of them. The ageing midfield stalwarts are in the twilight of their glittering careers, with Carlo Ancelotti starting to phase them out of the first-team picture. So, it behoves Real Madrid to invest in a young midfielder.
Several candidates, including Gabriel Moscardo, have thus emerged on Real Madrid’s radar. But Thuram can also be a viable candidate to bolster their midfield unit. The Frenchman’s versatility is his greatest asset, as he can play as a holding midfielder and a box-to-box midfielder.
So, the 22-year-old French midfield prospect can be a top-class addition to the Real Madrid midfield. But it will be interesting to see if Ancelotti heeds Damiani’s advice and pursues Thuram’s signature next year.
