Osasuna 2-2 Barcelona: Ansu Fati makes history as champions held to stalemate [Tweets]

Ansu Fati became the youngest goalscorer in Barcelona history, but the La Liga champions were held to a 2-2 draw by Osasuna at El Sadar on Saturday.

After the high of the game against Real Betis came the reality check. The absence of the superstars made quite a difference for Barcelona, who struggled in the first half after Osasuna took an early lead through Roberto Torres. Early into the second half, the La Liga champions hit back through Ansu Fati before Arthur handed them the lead in the 64th minute.

But, Torres completed his brace with less than ten minutes left in regulation time after Gerard Pique was penalised for handball inside the Barcelona box. In the end, the Catalans were held to a 2-2 draw by the resilient Osasuna side, as a stuttering start to the season continued. As a result, the knives were out after a disappointing result, with Ernesto Valverde and Pique copping the flak.

But, the day belonged to 16-year-old prodigy Ansu Fati, who became the youngest goalscorer in Barcelona history.

Another player hailed by the Barcelona faithfuls was Arthur, who turned the tide of the game with his goal and gave the visitors more control in midfield.
