Arsenal began their season with an uncharacteristic away win over Newcastle United, kept a clean sheet and Twitter reacted to this victory.

Last season Arsenal recorded only one away clean sheet, but this time out, the Gunners began their season with a win on the road and kept a clean sheet. Arsenal fans had been hoping to see some of their newly arrived summer recruits. Instead they got treated to a lineup that consisted of youth, experience, and some not so popular players.

Arsenal were able to maintain composure and uncharacteristically held on to a narrow second-half lead to take all three points. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was on hand to score for Arsenal. This strike proved crucial as neither side could breach the goal before or after this strike.

Twitter had a gala time today as they watched Arsenal’s win with curiosity. The supporters would have been a happy bunch considering its been rather uncommon for their side to keep an away clean sheet.
