Marouane Fellaini has agreed to a new two-year deal to continue his career at Manchester United on a contract that runs till 2020.
To nobody’s surprise, Manchester United have announced that Marouane Fellaini has signed a two-year extension at the club, with an option to extend it by a further year at the behest of the club.
Fans though, are not particularly impressed by Manchester United caving in to Fellaini’s demands and let their views known on the fabled social media platform, Twitter.
United had a chance to move on from Fellaini and try a new direction. He’s nowhere near good enough as a starter and it’ll be the same old tiresome lumping it when United are losing or needing a winner.

I support a club that was getting held to ransom by Marouane Fellaini and we gave in and agreed to give him what he wants. Great.

Man United fans are quickly deleting their tweets about celebrating Arsenal’s link with Fellaini…

One of the darkest days in this clubs history. A two year contract for Fellaini with an option for an extra year. Blood on Jose and Woodward’s hands.

Whilst Liverpool are signing Fabinho and Keita we are over here having Fellaini renewing a new £100k contract and Martial probably leaving ?

We’re breaking the club rule of giving players over the age of 30 only a year’s contract for Fellaini. Let that sink in.

Fellaini has treated Utd like his side piece for 6 months and came out on top. How has that been allowed to happen?

Some though, had some positive things to say about the deal while some had important updates.
Manchester United’s season does not rest on Marouane Fellaini staying on. It’s what signings now come in after this and how several players already here need to have much, much better seasons than last.

Right, so Fellaini has signed. You’re entitled to your opinion on his role in the team, but now that it’s done & dusted, support him & refrain from boos & jibes. He’s a Manchester United player at the end of the day & the last thing we need is a toxic atmosphere at the club.

Marouane Fellaini new deal @ManUtd to 2020 with option for another year. Am told terms are more or less same as he was initially offered so if he was holding club to ransom it didn’t really work.

FELLAINI DEAL!
• He wanted guaranteed playing time
• Jose Mourinho couldn’t agree
• Fellaini went shopping
• #MUFC was the best offerHe has signed to be a BACK UP Plan B and cost us nothing.
Matic, Fred & Pogba start.
Deal with it & support him!— LordScottLindquist (@LindquistLord) June 29, 2018
Still, the decision to sign Marouane Fellaini to a new deal is questionable, to say the least. If Jose Mourinho fails to deliver Manchester United a big trophy this season, fans won’t be backing the Portuguese anymore, especially after him opting to retain Fellaini.
