Manchester United left it really late to earn a point against Burnley as they came from two goals down to hold the visitors to a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
The hosts were left shell shocked by the time the first 45 minutes ended as goals from Ashley Barnes and Steven Defour gave Burnley a two-goal lead without being threatened a lot on the other end. But, Manchester United weren’t going down without a fight.
Jesse Lingard was introduced at half-time and after missing a goal from point blank range, he turned into the saviour for Jose Mourinho & co. The England international first scored from a brilliant flick to pull one back before levelling things up in injury time with a half volley.
The draw meant that Burnley are still unbeaten against Manchester United on Boxing Day, while the misery deepened for Mourinho, who was not at favour with his fans, while also being trolled by rivals post the result.
Apparently Jose Mourinho has just been seen leaving Old Trafford driving very fast.
He’s off to find the nearest speed camera in an attempt to get 3 points this Christmas.

In a few months, the Premier league will get rid of Jose Mourinho forever. It will be like when Joffrey died.

Strange how 3 bad results against ‘lesser’ teams automatically means spend half a million again. This team should of won all 3, comfortably. We’ve been set up wrong and the wrong players have been on the pitch. Only one man is behind that

Had enough of this “Mourinho isn’t getting backed” nonsense. He’s spent £300m in the last 2 windows. Has the 2nd best squad in the league. But i guess that isn’t enough to beat the likes of Leicester and Burnley though

Nor his fault that LVG bought Anthony Martial for £60m and promoted Rashford from the ranks Nor his fault that LVG sold Welbeck, Chicaritto, RVP and Di Maria. Well actually it is.

The only bit I don’t understand in all this is, he’s only played City once but the gap is 12 points not 3. Exactly how much money does he need to compete with Burnley, Leicester, Huddersfield etc?

Mourinho should please shut up. PEP is better than you, accept it & drink water. Our squad isnt as good as Mancity’s i agree but see what Pep has done to his players. Take away Pogba/Degea and we are basically Burnley ??

But, the hero on the night for Manchester United was Jesse Lingard, who was hailed for his point-saving brace.
Jesse Lingard has scored or assisted more goals (10) in the Premier League this season than:
Özil (4⚽️ & 5?️)
Sanchez (5⚽️ & 3?️)
Hazard (5⚽️ & 2?️)
Mane (4⚽️ & 3?️)??? #MUFC pic.twitter.com/FDDETxuck6

If you told me last year that Jesse Lingard would bee more crucial than Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford, I’d have told you to put Football Manager down and get some fresh air.

Credit’s given when credit’s due, and Lingard deserves everyone’s love. He’s gotten so much heat in the past few seasons, and he’s turning it up now for us when all looks lost. Keep it up, @JesseLingard !#FullTimeJohn pic.twitter.com/iTXXiWZPMp

Incoming hate but Lingard’s actually earned his wage this season tbh. Been saving us.

Jesse Lingard is what people think Dele Alli is.

I think it’s officially time we give Jesse Lingard the respect he deserves.

Lingard is the English Messi

Obviously not arguing that Lingard is world class or better than De Bruyne etc., rather that he’s doing a decent enough job for us and deserves more support than he gets from some reds.

While TL is filled with negatives (and rightly so) I’d just like to add that I’m so happy for Jesse Lingard. He’s risen from the absolute dead & put in class performances (5 goals in last 5 games) to get back in Mourinho’s plans. Nothing better than seeing a local lad do well.
