Liverpool handed boost in Zeki Celik chase after agent’s Juventus comments

Zeki Celik has been linked with a move away from AS Roma in recent months, with Liverpool long mentioned as a destination.

There have been rumours that Zeki Celik has reached an agreement to join Juventus in the summer transfer window. However, his agent has now rubbished such speculation, claiming that the player has no agreement with any club and that he is focused on doing well for Roma right now.

The player will be out of contract at the end of the season, and he will sort out his future in due course of time. Liverpool have been linked with the player, and it remains to be seen whether they make an offer to secure his signature.

They need more depth at right back. Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong have been quite injury-prone, and Liverpool needs more options in that area of the pitch. The 29-year-old has the quality to do well in the Premier League, and he could be a useful acquisition for Liverpool, especially on a free transfer.

Fazil Ozdemir, his agent, said via Daily Mirror, “The rumours that Zeki has reached an agreement with a club are not accurate. He currently plays for a major club, and it is natural that major teams in Italy and England would show interest in a player competing at this level and that his name would be associated with those clubs.

“His contract with Roma expires at the end of the season; however, he has great respect for the club. At this stage, he is not focusing on contractual or transfer matters. His full attention and commitment are focused on supporting Roma in achieving its objectives. We believe that all other matters will be addressed and resolved in due course, in a professional and respectful manner.”

Boost for Liverpool in Celik chase

The comments from the player’s agent will serve as a boost for Liverpool, and it remains to be seen whether they try to secure an agreement with the player. He has shown his quality in Italy, and the opportunity to move to England will be exciting for him.

Liverpool is among the biggest clubs in the world, and they could provide him with the platform to fight for major trophies. Juventus is also an elite club, but they are not quite at Liverpool’s level right now. Also, the English club might be able to provide him with a more lucrative contract.
