Liverpool put up a spirited performance against Arsenal on Saturday night and ran out 3-1 winners. The North London outfit was torn to shreds by Sadio Mane and co. and at the end of the day, they reflected back on what was a disappointing day at the office.
The Reds opened the scoring through Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane doubled the advantage as they looked set to pick up all three points. However, Danny Welbeck pulled one goal back to give Arsenal a shout, but Wijnaldum scored Liverpool’s third of the night, to put the game to bed.
Arsenal fans were deservedly disappointed with their team’s performances, but were baffled to see the exclusion of Alexis Sanchez from the starting eleven. The Chilean has been their most influential player this season, and was inexplicably left out of the lineup.
He was brought on in the second period as the plan clearly backfired. That, however, did not stop the fans on Twitter from cricitising Wenger and his decision to leave out Sanchez. Take a look:
Alexis Sánchez laughing on the bench to an unimpressed Gabriel speaks volumes. Would be utterly surprised if he doesn't leave in the summer.

Sometimes I put aside what I feel as an Arsenal fan after we've lost and I start to feel sorry for Alexis Sanchez. Man deserves better

Alexis Sanchez has done more in 10 minutes than the entire starting XI could do in the whole of the first half.

Just find it utterly bemusing as to why Alexis Sánchez – Arsenal’s top scorer and provider – was left out of the starting XI. Very odd.

My mum who knows nothing about football must said to me "it seems to be the same every year" sums it up really #WengerOut

#afc being ripped apart. Second best to #lfc all over the pitch. Wenger sent out a defeatist message starting his best player on the bench.

Arsene Wenger is ruining a massively successful and amazing career that he has had at Arsenal. Time to leave. #WengerOut

Sadio Mane was showered with praises on social media for his Man of the Match performance:
4 – Sadio Mane has scored and assisted in four Premier League games this season, more than any other player. Talisman.

The way Mane appreciates space is key to his game. That was evident yesterday.A rare speed merchant who's brain is as fast as his feet.#LFC.

Mané and Wijnaldum are two of the best signings we've made in years. Both absolutely immense today.
