Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal: Klopp’s Reds maintain 100% record with comfortable win [Tweets]

Liverpool consolidated their position at the top of the Premier League table as they beat rivals Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield on Saturday evening.

The first-half was pretty much one-way traffic as Liverpool dominated the game, but were unable to convert that domination into a lead. While Arsenal did threaten on the counter on a couple of occasions, it was the home team that went in front when Joel Matip rose the highest to nod home a dangerous corner from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 41st minute.

Four minutes into the second-half, Liverpool doubled their lead with Mohamed Salah dispatching a penalty after having been fouled inside the box by Arsenal’s summer recruit David Luiz. Almost ten minutes later, the Egyptian attacker doubled his tally on the day with a fine finish after beating Luiz with great ease.

Substitute Lucas Torreira pulled one back for Arsenal in the 85th minute but it was nothing more than a consolation as Liverpool made it three wins in three games to increase their lead at the top of the table.

Here’s how the Liverpool supporters reacted to the victory against Unai Emery’s men.

Mo Salah stole the show with a brilliant display, capping it off with two very well-taken goals. And the Reds’ supporters waxed lyrical about the Egyptian superstar on social media.
