Liverpool dropped points to a team in the bottom half of the Premier League table yet again as Bournemouth held them to a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Wednesday.
Liverpool spurned the chance to steer well clear of the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United after dropping two points to Bournemouth on Wednesday.
Benik Afobe gave the visitors a shock lead inside the first ten minutes before Philippe Coutinho restored parity in the 40th minute. Divock Origi then headed the hosts into the lead midway through the second only for Joshua King to score a late leveller that ensured a share of the spoils between the two sides.
Liverpool remain two points ahead of fourth-placed Manchester City who have a game in hand on the Reds. Here are the best tweets emerging in the aftermath of the closely contested match on Wednesday.

Take that derby defeat as a compliment.
Liverpool only beat the decent teams.— Tony Scott (@Tony_Scott11) April 5, 2017
Liverpool fans lamented poor defending from their side after they conceded the late equaliser to King:
Bournemouth only had two shots on target, they both went in. Another problem area, goalkeepers are meant to save shots. Liverpool GKs don’t.

We’ve conceded more goals against Bournemouth this season than Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City and Man Utd combined #LFC

On Klopp that one. You don’t go five at the back against a team like Bournemouth. Invited them on and got punished. Unbelievably pathetic.

Bournemouth scored twice from 4 attempts, Liverpool scored twice from 19. Two stories – not clinical enough up top & too weak defensively.

We’ve been 3-1 and 2-1 up against Bournemouth this season and got 1 point. 1 POINT.

Liverpool have conceded more goals (39) than Middlesbrough (37) this season.
Middlesbrough are 19th.

Expecting Liverpool to sit deep and defend and not concede is like leaving a cat with a bowl of cream and expecting it not to drink it.

Many Liverpool fans, though, were unsurprised after the Reds dropped points to a team in the bottom half yet again this season:

The most typical Liverpool match I’ve ever fucking seen. Spurs pull out a great win from nothing and we give 3 points away. Fucking bottlers

Man Utd and Everton drew.
Swansea beating Tottenham.
Chelsea beating Man City.Liverpool just beat Bournemouth?
Nah you’re alright mate.

That is a pathetic result. With Champions League football at stake, you should be beating Bournemouth at home. No excuses.

5 points given away against Bournemouth in 7 minutes this season. The Liverpool way.

To put that into perspective, if we knew how to defend against Bournemouth after the 87th minute – we’d now be in a title race.
