Leicester City 3-0 Arsenal: Foxes shatter Gunners’ top four hopes [Tweets]

Leicester City became the latest team to add misery to Arsenal’s already frailing top-four chances with a convincing victory over 10-man Gunners.

Are Arsenal’s chances of a top-four finish now indeed over? One could certainly imagine so after yet another loss, this time to Leicester City. This was also their third consecutive league loss after defeats to Crystal Palace and Wolves, while the lost three points against the Foxes mean that Arsenal are in real danger of not finishing the season in Champions League places.

For some, it did not feel like a loss right from the start, although the feeling started kicking in after Ainsley Maitland-Niles was sent off for a second bookable offence. Some thought it was a harsh red card, but he did commit those fouls from a neutral perspective.

After a goalless first half, Youri Tielemans broke the deadlock, exposing the Arsenal defence like Crystal Palace and Wolves did a few days ago. Jamie Vardy then joined the party to add insult to injury by scoring a brace, with the second coming with the last kick of the game.

Twitter wasn’t happy at all with Arsenal’s performance as the Gunners have now lost three games in what could have, and has been a season-defining week, conceding three in each of those defeats. We take a look at some of the tweets that came as a reaction to yet another away loss for Arsenal.

The general talking point was all Arsenal and their top four chances.

Then again the game changing moment came when Ainsley Maitland-Niles was sent off, and there were really mixed reactions to that incident. Some believe it crumbled the entire team’s efforts, while some came directly to defend the versatile star.
