Juan Mata came close to handing Manchester United a win on Saturday, only for his brace to be cancelled out by two loose goals by Leicester City.
Jose Mourinho must be fuming. The Red Devils fell behind early on as Leicester City opened the scoring in true Foxes fashion, with a scintillating counter attack – one which could have been dealt with better by the United defence.
Juan Mata though, handed United the lead with a brace and it looked like smooth sailing for Manchester United, who missed a quartet of easy chances. The profligacy came back to haunt them later on as Leicester City snatched a stoppage-time goal to earn a draw.
Fingers were pointed towards the United defence and mentality, with the club conceding Fergie time goals in consecutive matches now.
Wednesday—concede in 93’—knocked out of the league cup.
Saturday—concede in 94’—fall 13 points behind Manchester City.

Martial,Lingard & Rashford are the culprits for Manchester United’s draw, not Smalling.
The game should have ended 6-1 if those players converted their chances, very easy chances.— Olaleye Dada (@olaleyedada) December 23, 2017

The brutal truth is that Manchester United’s playing squad is as thin as ice when compared to Real, Barca, Bayern, PSG and Juventus. Yet Ed Woodward will continue to say that #MUFC is the biggest club in the world. Absolute joke. #MUFC

Manchester United have to start learning the lessons of their failures & cut the fat of the squad that’s holding them back if they want to move forward as a club. Not to mention a killer instinct, which they didn’t have at all. I hope that’s what they learn from today.

Just add City to your club name when next you’re playing Manchester United.

Juan Mata though, tried his best to bring some cheer to United fans, with a brace, only for his effort to be foiled later on.
Juan Mata needs to play more, simple as that. People have forgotten how good he really is. He’s so good on and off the ball, always looking to attack!

A Chelsea era Juan Mata freekick. Remember when his battles with De Gea from dead ball situations used to be truly epic, game-turning match ups.

Love Juan Mata.
Would take him back at Chelsea in a heartbeat.
