Barcelona stretched their lead at the top of the La Liga table to seven points on Saturday as they beat Leganes 3-0 at Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Luis Suarez seemed to have overcome his demons from earlier in the season on the day as he ended his drought with a well grabbed brace. The Uruguayan first broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark as he reacted well to slot the ball into the net after Ivan Cuellar parried Paco Alcacer’s shot away.

The Cuellar-Alcacer combo were at it again thirty minutes later, with Suarez again reacting smartly to double his side’s lead. The win was then rounded off in the dying moments of the match, with Paulinho latching on to Lionel Messi’s flicked pass. And the Brazilian was hailed as he impressed in a short stint on the pitch.

Luis Suarez rediscovered some of his lost form on Saturday as well, grabbing a well deserved brace to set the win for his side, and he was hailed for his display.

Barcelona fans were also in celebratory mood later on Saturday as they increased their lead over bitter rivals Real Madrid to 10 points.
