Kyle Walker has sent Arsenal a title warning, insisting Manchester City are far from done with plenty of games left in the season.
The Premier League title race looks like a two-horse affair between Arsenal and Manchester City. Up until the weekend, Arsenal had a near-brilliant record coming into their 20th game of the season. They had lost only once, drawing twice, and winning the other 16 games.
On the other hand, Manchester City have dropped plenty of unwanted points leading up to this stage. Defeats to Liverpool, Brentford, and Manchester United led to Arsenal opening up a decent five-point gap at the top with a game in hand.
Arsenal endured a surprise loss to Everton at Goodison Park, which was a glorious opportunity for Manchester City to close the points gap. Instead, Pep Guardiola’s side suffered a defeat at Tottenham, with Harry Kane’s record-breaking goal sealing the three points.
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker admitted the loss was a missed opportunity. His post-match comments also sent out a Premier League title warning to Arsenal. His quotes appeared in the Daily Mail, as the right-back suggested plenty of games are left to play this season.
🗣 "Of course it is because they dropped points and we needed to pick up points."

Walker said, “Of course, it is [a missed opportunity]. They dropped points, and we needed to pick up points to close the gap, but there is still a lot of football to play. I have been here many, many years in the Premier League and I know the twists and turns that can happen.”
“I know what this team is about. I know what this team can do. We can go on runs from now until the end of the season and it’s just about us doing that really. “This is the team we’ve got now until the end of the season. We’ll fight until the end.”
Arsenal have strengthened their squad in the January transfer window. Meanwhile, Manchester City let key defender Joao Cancelo leave for Bayern Munich. On paper, the Portuguese international’s departure makes Manchester City a bit weaker. But they also can use their superior squad depth to nullify his absence.
Arsenal, meanwhile, brought in Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior, and Jorginho, who arrived on deadline day to shore up the team. Whether they will help the Gunners win the title remains the question. The Gunners take on Brentford at home next, while Manchester City travel to Aston Villa to face Unai Emery’s side.
On February 15th, Arsenal will host Manchester City, a clash that could decide the direction of the Premier League title race. A win for the Gunners would let them extend their lead at the top, although Guardiola will hope for a different result.
