It started off in the most unfortunate of circumstances. Kevin Wimmer couldn’t possibly have had a worse half. Getting booked in the first 45 minutes and then going on to score for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

For all the chances we’ve created, Wimmer did the right thing and put us in the lead. That’s called sportsmanship!! #AFCvTHFC @ArsenalFanTV

On the positive side, that’s our first goal from open play since the invention of colour TV. #thfc #coys #ARSTOT

To be fair, Spurs weren’t going to lose this game unless they beat themselves. Just didn’t think about it so literally. #COYS #THFC

2 – Kevin Wimmer is the second player to score an own goal in a PL North London derby (Chris Armstrong in March 2000). Oops.
— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) November 6, 2016
The ball was so good, Kevin Wimmer couldn’t resist heading it into his own goal. ?

Mesut Ozil got bored of assisting his own players so planted one right on Kevin Wimmer’s bonce instead.

That Ozil delivery deserved a goal tho, respect to Wimmer. He knew it too. Did the right thing.

Shows how good Ozil’s assists are, even Wimmer wanted in on it. #NorthLondonDerby

Great header by Wimmer…shame it was into the wrong goal ? #AFCVTHFC
— Nicole Holliday (@NicoleHolliday) November 6, 2016
Wimmer just wanted to be able to retire one day and say he scored from an Ozil assist. Fair play to the lad really.

Heart goes out to Kevin Wimmer for his plaintive “Ref!” cry after slotting an impressive own goal.
