Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has been linked with a summer move away from the Merseyside club amid his links with Real Madrid.
Alexis Mac Allister has been exceptional since joining the club, and he helped them win the Premier League title last season. It appears that Real Madrid are interested in securing his signature. Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness has now suggested that Real Madrid is likely to make their move for the player, and an exit could be a possibility.
The Argentine international has proved himself in the Premier League with Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion. He could be open to taking a new challenge at this stage of his career. South American players tend to prefer a move to Spain, and he could be attracted to the idea of joining Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants are widely regarded as the biggest club in the world, and they could offer Alexis Mac Allister the platform to fight for trophies regularly. And Keith Wyness certainly believes a move may be on the cards.
He said to Football Insider, “Well, last week we talked about Szoboszlai going to Real Madrid, and now we’ve got McAllister going to Real Madrid. It seems like they’re Real Madrid reserves at the moment. I do think McAllister could be interested in Real Madrid. I think that’s one that’s got more legs than Szoboszlai.
“And I think that may be something that they will at least be talking about right now. Still early days in terms of the agents making their move, but Real Madrid are definitely going to be making their move.”
Real Madrid eyeing multiple Liverpool players
Meanwhile, it would be devastating for Liverpool if they lose Alexis Mac Allister in the summer transfer window. The Reds are already lacking in quality in the middle of the park, and losing the South American will be difficult for them. It remains to be seen whether they can convince the midfielder to continue at Anfield.
Dominik Szoboszlai has been linked with a move away from the club as well, and Real Madrid are monitoring his situation. Los Blancos already signed Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool last summer, and they are hoping to sign Ibrahima Konate for free at the end of the season as well. It seems that Real Madrid are plotting a major raid on Liverpool this summer.
