Jurgen Klopp comments on Real Madrid links amid rising speculation

Jurgen Klopp has been consistently linked with a return to management over the last few months, with Real Madrid reportedly interested in the former Liverpool head coach.

Jurgen Klopp is currently employed as head of football at the Red Bull group. The German tactician is regarded as one of the finest managers of his generation, and it is no surprise that elite clubs have been consistently linked with him.

There have been rumours that he could return to management, and the former Liverpool boss has now clarified that the rumours linking him with Real Madrid are baseless, but he is not done as a coach yet.

It is clear that the German tactician is looking to return to management once again in the near future. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid can bring him to the club. It is no secret that they need a quality manager.

Los Blancos appointed Xabi Alonso at the start of the season, but the Spaniard was shown the door after a series of disappointing results. Former defender Alvaro Arbeloa is currently the club’s head coach. However, Arbeloa is not a long-term solution, and he is expected to be replaced in the summer.

Meanwhile, Klopp has a proven pedigree, and he has helped Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool win major trophies in the past. There is no doubt he could make a defining impact at Real Madrid as well. He won two league titles in Germany and every trophy available to him at Liverpool (except the Europa League).

Klopp on Real Madrid links

Klopp told via Sky Sports, “If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now. But that’s all nonsense. They haven’t called even once, not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven’t called him either.

“Right now I’m not thinking about that, luckily there’s no reason to. For my age, I’m quite advanced in life, but as a coach, I’m not completely finished. I haven’t reached retirement age. Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there’s nothing planned.”

Jurgen Klopp could turn it around

Real Madrid are widely regarded as the biggest club in the world, and they have several world-class players at their disposal. The former Liverpool boss could be tempted to join them in future. He will be hoping to win major trophies with them.

Real Madrid endured a disappointing season last time out, failing to win a single trophy. It has been a mediocre campaign for them so far this term. They need an elite manager to get back to the top of European football. However, Klopp’s comments suggest talks with Real Madrid are yet to take place.
