Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that the club are set to sign Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane imminently.

Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane will be joining reigning German champions Bayern Munich, Die Roten’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed.

The 30-year-old Senegalese speedster was entering the final year of his contract with Liverpool and had informed the Reds soon after their UEFA Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid that he wished to move on this summer. And Bayern Munich have been in the picture to sign him for a while.

Talks over a transfer for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations winner had been underway for several weeks now. And after Liverpool rejected Bayern Munich’s early offer, the Bavarian giants sent a negotiating team led by Salihamidzic to thrash out a deal for Mane.

And, as quoted by 90 min, Salihamidzic was asked in the airport on his way back if the two clubs had reached an agreement. In response, the Bayern Munich director replied, “Yes, he’s coming.”

Thus, Salihamidzic has confirmed the transfer of Mane from Liverpool to Bayern Munich. The report from 90 min goes on to add that the two clubs have reached an agreement over a transfer fee just below the mark that Liverpool were demanding for their star attacker, who was crucial to their cup double this past season.

Providing an update on the negotiations, reliable journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool will be receiving a fixed fee of €32 million for Mane. On top of that, the Reds will also stand to bag an additional €6 million in add-ons linked with appearances and performances.

Romano also adds that Mane will be signing a three-year contract with Bayern Munich and will travel to Germany on Tuesday to complete his medical before an official announcement is made.

With this, Mane’s six-year tenure with Liverpool comes to an end. Signed from Southampton in the summer of 2016, the Senegalese superstar has grown immensely during his time at Anfield and departs as a Premier League and a UEFA Champions League winner.

At Bayern Munich, Mane could serve as a direct replacement for ace goalscorer Robert Lewandowski, who is linked with a summer move to Barcelona.
