It was the Mesut Ozil-Alexis Sanchez show at Goodison Park on Sunday as a thunderous Arsenal blew away Everton with a 5-2 scoreline.
There was some level of expectancy that the Arsenal fans could just get to see Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez both in the starting eleven after the duo were left out of the same for the midweek Europa League clash.
And as the two took to the field together, it seemed like the ground was starting to reverb with the beautiful football at play. A Wayne Rooney opener did not dampen the spirits of the Arsenal camp and a flurry of goals later, the Gunners secured a comfortable 5-2 win over the home side.
Mesut Ozil was the undoubted star of the show on Sunday and his performance was rightly greeted with the right combination of words on Twitter.
When someone has a good game they’re compared to Mesut Ozil. When Mesut Ozil has a good game he is compared to no one. Levels #afc

Mesut Ozil created 6 chances in the first half vs Everton. No player in the PL has created more in a whole match this season

Mesut Ozil by far best player on the pitch. When he’s up for a game, there’s no stopping him. Lovely passes, touches and movements.

Alexis Sanchez also received some words of appreciation on the night for his overall play and the linkup between the trio – Lacazette, Alexis Sanchez and Ozil.
Alexis Sanchez: 1 goal & 1 assist
Mesut Özil: 1 goal & 1 assist
Alexandre Lacazette: 1 goal

Lacazette to Alexis Sanchez
Alexis Sanchez to Mesut Ozil
Mesut Ozil scores.
That’s why you should always play the 3 together Arsene.

This Sanchez-Ozil-Lacazette thing should probably happen more often.

First game together for Sanchez, Lacazette and Ozil:
Goals: 3
Assists: 2
Points: 3It’s not rocket science.

Lacazette, Sanchez & Ozil must have been Wenger’s ideal front three in August. They start together for the first time today.
— James Olley (@JamesOlley) October 22, 2017
As expected, Arsenal look a different beast with Ozil, Sanchez and Lacazette playing together. Too bad they already dug such a deep hole.
— Mattias Karén (@MattiasKaren) October 22, 2017
First time Lacazette, Sanchez and Ozil start and they all score. Encouraging for Wenger even if Everton are toss
— Tom Adams (@tomEurosport) October 22, 2017
If Arsene Wenger started a front 3 of Lacazette, Sanchez and Ozil every week they would be up there for me ??

Ozil+Sanchez+Lacazette is unstoppable.
We can kill teams off with their movement plus do not forget Ramsey’s late runs into the box. pic.twitter.com/XS7V1EX0Ad— Lets Talk Arsenal (@ltarsenal) October 22, 2017
