Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is a target for Real Madrid, and he has been heavily linked with an exit in the summer.

The 25-year-old playmaker has no further speculations surrounding his future by claiming that he would like to live in Madrid in future.

It is no secret that Real Madrid needs more quality in the middle of the park, and Fernandez is certainly one of the best in Europe right now. He has been exceptional for Chelsea since joining the club. The Argentina International has registered 18 goal contributions this season, and he could improve Real Madrid immensely.

The Spanish outfit have struggled to control in the middle of the park since the departure of Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos. Fernandez will not only add control to the team but also help them create more opportunities and score more goals. He is entering the peak years of his career, and this is the right time for him to make the step up.

“I don’t know,” he said via Sky Sports when asked if he would be at the club next season.

“My focus is here now.  Then the World Cup is coming up, so we’ll see after that.”

When asked if he would like to live in a different country, Fernandez said: “I really like Madrid – it’s similar to Buenos Aires.”

Fernandez was then questioned on whether he would consider living in Madrid, where he added, “Yes, of course.”

Chelsea will not want to let a player like him leave the club easily. They could demand a lot of money for his signature. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid decides to step up their pursuit of the player with an attractive offer in the summer. It is clear that the midfielder is tempted to join them. He is likely to have his head turned if there is a concrete proposal on the table.

Chelsea is going through a rebuilding phase, and they might not be able to push for titles. The UEFA Champions League next season. The 25-year-old has won the World Cup and the Copa América with his country, and he will now look to win major club trophies. Real Madrid could be his best bet.
