Marcus Rashford fired in a brilliant effort from long range to secure all three points for England in an all-important Group F encounter against Slovakia.

England came into the match on the back of a shaky 4-0 win against Malta. And as the match started, the Three Lions’ worst fears seemed to be heading towards realisation as Slovakia took the lead. Eric Dier soon equalized but it looked like the match was going towards a 1-1 draw.

Marcus Rashford, though, was to have a say. The player let rip a brilliant long-range effort – one which found the bottom corner and got England the much needed 3 points.

And, as is often the case, Rashford was the toast of Twitter on the night as people hailed the Manchester United academy graduate, especially after an early mistake from the player had seen Slovakia grab the lead.

Gareth Southgate, though, bore the brunt of the fans again after what seemed like a lackluster performance from England.

Joe Hart was not spared either.
