Former Italian striker Antonio Cassano has urged Dusan Vlahovic to ignore other interests and sign for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The future of Dusan Vlahovic is steadily becoming one of the hottest topics in European football. After refusing to sign a new deal with Fiorentina, the Serbian is destined to leave the club in the January window. The Viola were hopeful over an extension, and now without once, they risk losing him on a discounted price in the summer.

However, in the January window, they can still extract good value for the frontman with several sides interested. Arsenal have recently shown an interest in bringing the Serbian to the Emirates, with Mikel Arteta keen on the prolific forward.

The Gunners will lose Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah next summer when their contracts expire. Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s form has become a concern recently, with the club captain having been made to sit out the recent win over Southampton. Arsenal, however, might be a fallback option for Vlahovic, who could eye a move to a much bigger club.

Speaking of which, Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing the Serbian and are prepared to make a big offer in the January window. Pep Guardiola has been looking for a new striker since the summer. Although, they chased Harry Kane throughout the period, the England captain seems to be no longer a target, meaning the search has widened, with Vlahovic coming up on the radar.

Manchester City certainly have the money to meet the demands of Fiorentina, although it remains to be seen if any other clubs come into the equation.

Former Italian striker Antonio Cassano certainly thinks Manchester City will be a great club for Vlahovic to play for. From his comments that appeared on Sport Witness via Calciomercato, Cassano urged the Serbian to ignore other clubs and sign for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola.

Cassano said, “Vlahovic, choose Guardiola and go to Manchester City. I don’t know if you’ll be up to it, but within a year you could reach Haaland’s level. If, on the other hand, you find a coach who does not know how to communicate with you, growth stops,”

As things stand, the race for the 21-year-old striker is open and could pick up steam depending on which teams are angling for a move. If a club like Manchester City come into the equation, they could become unbeatable, although Arsenal are also looking serious with their intent and ambition.
