“Destined for Manchester United greatness”: Harry Maguire speaks out on Jadon Sancho move

Harry Maguire has claimed that Jadon Sancho will have a great career at Manchester United and will be a big part of their success in the coming years.

It was a transfer saga that took ages to get completed. However, it is finally behind us, with Jadon Sancho set to become a new Manchester United signing this summer. And as quoted by Manchester Evening News, Sancho has been lauded by the Red Devils’ captain Harry Maguire following the announcement of the deal.

Manchester United had attempted to sign Jadon Sancho last summer as well but never really came close to securing his services as they were unwilling to meet Borussia Dortmund’s valuation. A similar situation threatened to ensue this summer as well, but the Red Devils have done enough to get over the line in the race to sign Sancho.

Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have finally reached an agreement over the prospect of signing Sancho, who will arrive at Old Trafford following the end of England’s campaign at UEFA Euro 2020. With the official completion of the transfer a mere formality, Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has heaped praise on the youngster.

“Jadon’s a top player. He has exceptional talent even though he is still really young, although he has played so many games. I’ve been really impressed with the way he has been working in training. He’s really putting a shift in day in day out. He has some great talent. He is scoring goals in the five-a-sides and so on. He’s a great lad.”

“I don’t know if it’s confirmed or not but I think they are nearly there in terms of signing him at club level. If he does sign and when he does sign I’m sure he’s going to have a great career for Manchester United and be a big part of us being successful in the future.”

Sancho finally made his first start at UEFA Euro 2020 against Ukraine in the quarter-final tie and showed Manchester United fans a glimpse of what is to come from him in the years to come. As of now, the supporters can rejoice at the fact that the record 20-time English champions have signed a genuinely world-class prospect, and it will be interesting to see if Maguire’s prophecy comes true.
