Real Madrid leapt to the top of La Liga, kicking off their campaign with an emphatic 3-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna at the Riazor on Sunday.
Zinedine Zidane couldn’t have asked for a better performance from his side to begin the defence of the La Liga title this season. It was a thoroughly dominant performance by Los Blancos, who were rarely troubled by the hosts, with Gareth Bale, Casemiro and Toni Kroos finding the back of the net to ensure an easy win.
The only blot on Real Madrid’s showing on the night was Sergio Ramos’s late dismissal with the club captain joining Cristiano Ronaldo on the sidelines due to suspension. Real Madrid fans, though, were in a joyous mood after Zidane’s men starting the season with a bang.

44 – There were 44 passes in the build-up for Casemiro’s goal, the most before a goal in La Liga since at least 2006/07. Tiki-taka. [Opta] pic.twitter.com/W1gWU4z4R9

Question remains the same. Who will stop Real Madrid? Devastating team. They play good football, they win. They play badly, they win.

Beautiful, beautiful football from Real Madrid. Had the ball for about 5 minutes. Pass, move, pass, move. Boom. Goal. Just like that.

Sergio Ramos was a major talking point after seeing red for the 23rd time in a Real Madrid shirt:

Ramos now 23 red cards in 526 Madrid games. Zero red cards in 143 Spain caps. He himself feels he gets raw deal from Spanish refs.

Ramos was looking for that free yellow card since last Wednesday anyway

Football will be a much better place when Sergio Ramos retires.

There were also words of praise for Keylor Navas, who saved a late penalty while making some other crucial saves in the match:
You guys will be so quick to slate Navas when he has a bad game but will forget the great games like tonight

I like this new Navas, Confident plus his passing has improved a bit. Bet he’s working on it.

Keylor Navas deserves a cleansheet.

Keylor Navas made the game more easier for us, stopped Deportivo chances in the first half and that relieved us of some pressure #HalaMadrid
