Alexandre Lacazette proved to be the man to help Arsenal secure all three points against Cardiff City after starting his first game this season.
Alexandre Lacazette showed Unai Emery why it is imperative for him to be on the pitch since the start after the Frenchman’s late goal secured all three points for Arsenal against Cardiff City. The Gunners took an early lead from a thumping Mustafi header, only to concede before halftime to a Victor Camarasa goal.
Arsenal then re-took the lead again from a brilliant Aubameyang goal from outside the box, after brilliant link-up play between Ozil and Lacazette with the Frenchman providing the assist for the Gabonese. The lead did not last long as Cardiff equalised through Danny Ward.
As for Arsenal’s response to the second Cardiff goal, Lacazette finished off brilliantly to secure all three points for Arsenal and was the Gunners’ best player on the evening. This is how Twitter reacted to Alexandre Lacazette’s performance.
Beautiful finish and such a cool celebration by Lacazette ? pic.twitter.com/EKvJtOgrlo

– Lacazette, dear God! He is brilliant! Much much better than last season!
– Aubameyang scored! Finally!
– Torreira in place of Xhaka, it's a request!
– Bernd Leno should be tried atleast! #CARARS #Arsenal— naveen bagga (@naveenbagga1) September 2, 2018

Nice to see today people realise just how good Lacazette is

By all accounts, before today dropping Lacazette from my fantasy football was absolutely the right decision… and then today. Sigh.

Then there was a bit on the Aubameyang-Lacazette axis too, as both formidable frontmen started a game together for the first time this season, as Lacazette turned provider for the Gabonese for Arsenal’ second goal.

My thoughts on #CARARS
• Lacazette and Auba look deadly together, but when Europa rolls around it will be hard to start them both every game
• Özil controlled the last 30min
• Back 5 (inc. Cech) were shaky
• Torriera must start
• Give Leno a chance
• Mustafi was decent— _ (@DBCarper) September 2, 2018
And finally, a couple of tweets to summarise Arsenal’s defence against Cardiff City.
Pretty accurate this. ?

@Arsenal defenders past 10 years:
+ I'm sick of this. I got 20 years older during the past decade!
Why you do this to us #Arsenal? Did we do bad things? Do we deserve to be punished? What is it then?#Arsenal #WeAreTheArsenal #COYG #CARARS pic.twitter.com/4FEb4TA0uw— Uncle P (@Pouriakaf7) September 2, 2018
