A rampant Lionel Messi struck four goals as Barcelona hit Eibar for a six at Camp Nou on Tuesday to extend their lead to five points at the top of La Liga.
Barcelona maintained their stranglehold at the top of the La Liga table, increasing their lead by five points as they enjoyed an emphatic 6-1 rout over Eibar on Tuesday night.
After a slow start to the match, the hosts took a firm grip on the proceedings following Lionel Messi’s penalty in the 20th minute. Paulinho and Denis Suarez got on the score sheet as well before Sergi Enrich pulled one back for the visitors.
However, Messi turned into a rampaging mood thereafter, scoring three more goals to make it two hat-tricks in three league games for his side. And unsurprisingly, it was the Argentinean forward who had users on Twitter hailing him following another domineering performance.

Amid all the Messi mania, Ernesto Valverde was at the receiving end of a lot of praise as well as Barcelona continued their perfect start to the season.
Valverde gets it, you just have to do what’s best for Messi and victories come naturally.

Valverde giving chances to players who deserve it. Bloody love it
— Julian (@ElaficionadoFC) September 19, 2017
And Paulinho, with a goal and an assist, shows he isn’t the player we were begging for but he can add to the team if Valverde uses him well.
— Mujtaba (@MujtaBATMAN) September 19, 2017
Happy that Valverde said the result vs Eibar was misleading, he’s right, and that Paulinho was lost in the first half until he fixed things.
— Rafael Hernández (@RafaelH117) September 19, 2017
A Barcelona coach that explains his decisions logically and actually talks honestly about matches, how refreshing after years of bitterness.

Great La Liga start by Barça this season 5 games, 5 wins. On top of the table. And Messi on fire.

Full credit to Valverde. Barcelona were written off before the start of the season. Terrible summer but, so far, he’s making sense of it all

The lamented got their dues as well as Paulinho and Denis Suarez were lauded after terrific performances on the night.
Denis Suarez’s tactical discipline is the closest thing I’ve seen to Andres. Should definitely be his understudy.
