Manchester City was subjected to a brutal loss at the hands of Arsenal in FA Cup semi-final, following which, Twitter exploded in frenzy
Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez settled the scores 11 minutes into extra time after Manchester City could not clear Ozil’s free-kick.
The Gunners showed resilience and did a great job at counter-attacking during the most unexpected moments. This will also ease some pressure off Arsene Wenger, who has been at the back end of receiving hate for quite some time now.
Although it wasn’t an equal playing field after City’s one goal was disallowed right before half time, Arsenal clearly emerged as the better team.
City had a goal wrongly ruled out in the first half when Leroy Sane’s cross was adjudged to have gone out before Aguero and Raheem Sterling combined to turn it into the net, while Yaya Toure and Fernandinho hit the woodwork after the break.
However, this became good news for the Gunners, as Wenger is now aiming to win his record seventh FA Cup.
It is interesting to note that while chants of ‘Wenger out’ kept growing, people suddenly started praising Wenger left, right and center after last night’s match. The burning question of whether or not Wenger should retire after this season remains unanswered, but for now, the Gunners fans seem to be delighted.
Meanwhile, seen any "Sack Wenger" posters tonight?

"4th place is not a trophy". Arsene Wenger has more trophies than 4th place finishes so take your argument & your a4 laminate and shove it

While people started showing support for Wenger, Pep Guardiola was not so lucky. When a manager of his calibre took over Manchester City, people expected wonders from him. However, this will be his first trophy-less season as a manager.
Their top-four spot is also not sealed so far, since the Manchester derby is fast approaching. With the amount of money City spent on transfers, its needless to say that the bosses also wouldn’t be too impressed.

In his very first season, Pep Guardiola manages to match his trophy count exactly with the number of hair on his head. The man's a genius!

When it came to Arsenal’s performance, one man clearly stood out. Alexis Sanchez was sublime from the beginning till the end, and he won the hearts of the fans after supplying that last crucial goal which handed them the victory.
While it is not sure if he is going to remain in Arsenal after the end of this season, people took to Twitter to appreciate the Chilean star.

Meanwhile, a lot was also said about the controversial disallowed goal of Manchester City’s. Replays did show that there was nothing wrong with the goal, and that the referee’s decision was wrong. Twitter was on fire right after that crucial moment.
Man City beat us with 2 offside goals in December so if they had a goal wrongly disallowed yesterday I couldn't give a toss

Just back from Wembley, had 4 hours to reflect and still can't help feeling we were robbed, clear pen, goal disallowed and hit bar and post

We should have had a penalty. They had a goal wrongly disallowed. Both teams been fucked over. Higher pressure needed 2nd half! COME ON AFC

While things worked out for Arsenal in this match, it remains to be seen how they fare against Premier League leaders Chelsea in their FA Cup final. With a lot at stake for Wenger, that match is bound to be a cracker.
