Arne Slot comments on Mohamed Salah future amid exit links

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside club this summer, and Arne Slot has commented on his future.

Mohamed Salah is in the final year of his contract with Liverpool, and he will be a free agent next summer. Naturally, there has been speculation surrounding his future at the club. There have been rumours that they could look to tie him down to a new contract.

Saudi Arabian clubs are keeping tabs on his situation as well, and they could look to make a move for him in the near future. In the circumstances, Liverpool manager Arne Slot was asked to shed light on Salah’s future. However, the Dutchman was quite dismissive in his response when asked about the attacker.

He said via Mirror: “I am looking now at Brentford and not the end of the season. If I see what he (Salah) does to keep his body as it is and be ready to play every game, I think there are many more years inside of him to play.”

The Egyptian is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, and he has been outstanding for Liverpool since joining the club. The seven-season Liverpool veteran has helped them win every major trophy at club level, and he was instrumental to their success under previous manager Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool must keep Mohamed Salah

Keeping him at the club should be paramount for Liverpool, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince him to sign a new deal with them. Even though he is 32, Salah is at the peak of his fitness levels, and he showed his class once again as Liverpool picked up a 2-0 win away from home against Ipswich Town in their Premier league opener.

The Egyptian international managed to set up the opening goal of the game for Diogo Jota, and he managed to get on the score sheet himself as well. Liverpool will be hoping to compete for major trophies in the coming season, and they will need to hold onto their best players despite Slot’s comments. Keeping the Egyptian at the club will be one of their priorities over the next few months.
