Alexis Mac Allister heaps praise on Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho

Alexis Mac Allister insists Alejandro Garnacho and some of the other younger players will be shining for Argentina in the future.

Alexis Mac Allister made his big career move to Liverpool last season and quickly established himself as a key star in Jurgen Klopp’s plans. Last time out, he was considered the club’s best summer signing and was in the mix for one of the top transfers of last summer in general.

He will hope to continue his impressive form for Liverpool under new boss Arne Slot, while his displays for Argentina have remained unchanged. Mac Allister was instrumental for the Argentines during the recently concluded Copa America, which they won by beating Colombia in the Final.

He started every game for Argentina at the tournament, barring the last group stage match, where Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho began to. Mac Allister might be an established player for his club, but he recognised that in the future, many of their current young crop needs to step up, and he pointed to Garnacho and Inter Milan star Valentin Carboni.

Both young starlets barely got a sniff under Lionel Scaloni, who has the luxury of choosing from a big group of experienced players like Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria. The eventual retirement of the experienced duo could open the doors for Carboni and Garnacho to establish themselves in future Argentine sides.

Mac Allister, in his comments on the YouTube channel AFA Estudio via Sport Witness, insisted he believed in the talents of Garnacho and Carboni. He pinpointed the dup as players who can shine for Argentina in the future and suggested they should take all they can from their current experiences, where they are barely playing in the national side despite their apparent selection by Scaloni.

Mac Allister said, He (Carboni) played little, but in training, he showed what he was worth; I think he earned the respect of the team group.”

“He and Garnacho are two players who can give a lot to Argentina. We have a lot of hope for their future. We can load them with a lot of expectations right now, but in the future, they will give us a lot.”

Sticking with Garnacho, the Manchester United starlet had a terrific season when some of the more established stars came under fire. He assumed the role of a winger on the left-hand side, usually taken up by Marcus Rashford. The latter is expected to keep his place when the season begins, although the Argentine will have no problems taking the right wing to keep his place under Erik ten Hag.

Garnacho has made himself an important part of Ten Hag’s thinking since a string-end to the previous campaign. Hence, the Argentine has a big future ahead, especially for Manchester United. He will also hope his performances for the club will keep his place in Scaloni’s Argentine squad intact for the time being, as he looks to establish himself as a regular there in the future.
