Brighton & Hove Albion relaxed amid Manchester United links with Fabian Hurzeler

Brighton & Hove Albion are not worried about the long-term future of their manager, Fabian Hurzeler, amidst interest from Manchester United.

Brighton & Hove Albion are relaxed about Fabian Hurzeler’s future despite growing links with Manchester United, with the Seagulls confident they can retain their manager following an impressive start to the season.

According to a report by Football Insider, sources at Brighton have indicated that the club have received no contact from other sides regarding the German coach. The 33-year-old has attracted considerable attention following his team’s performances, but Brighton are not currently concerned about losing him.

Hurzeler is under contract at the Amex Stadium until the summer of 2029, giving the club a strong position should Manchester United decide to formalise their interest. The Red Devils have reportedly been considering the Brighton manager as they assess Michael Carrick’s position following a disappointing start to the campaign.

The Red Devils have struggled since the campaign’s start, recording just one win in seven league matches and two victories across ten games in all competitions. A frustrating 1-1 draw against Leeds United in their most recent outing has added to the pressure surrounding Carrick.

Should they decide to make a managerial change, Hurzeler could emerge as a serious candidate. However, persuading Brighton to release their manager, who has made such a positive impact, would be a significant challenge.

Hurzeler’s Brighton are on fire this season

The Seagulls have made an excellent start to the season, sitting third in the Premier League after seven matches and suffering only one league defeat. Hurzeler has helped his side combine attacking productivity with defensive organisation while also competing in the UEFA Conference League.

Brighton’s 5-0 demolition of bitter rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday underlined their progress. The victory took their league goal tally to 23, making them the division’s leading scorers at this stage of the campaign.

Their defensive record has been equally impressive. Brighton have kept four consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League and have gone more than six hours of league football without conceding. They are now level with Arsenal as the league’s tightest defence, further highlighting the balance Hurzeler has established within his squad.

Hurzeler appears settled at the club, while the Seagulls are delighted with his work since taking charge. Manchester United may view him as a potential solution to their problems, but Brighton’s long-term contract and lack of concern suggest that any attempt to prise him away would be far from straightforward.
