Newcastle United stance on Matthias Jaissle future emerges after Aston Villa loss

Newcastle United are not adding to the pressure on under-fire manager Matthias Jaissle despite yet another Premier League defeat.

Matthias Jaissle may be one of the managers under pressure in the Premier League, but Newcastle United are not overly concerned about his position, as per Football Insider. Despite another league defeat, this time against Aston Villa, the Magpies are prepared to remain patient with the German coach as he works to stabilise the team following a turbulent summer.

Newcastle United made an excellent start to the season despite facing a difficult opening run of fixtures, including a home draw against Liverpool and an away victory over Tottenham. Those performances hinted at a promising new era under Jaissle, an “unproven” German coach who arrived with little prior media attention.

The task of replacing the experienced Eddie Howe was always likely to weigh on Jaissle at some stage, and he may now be experiencing that pressure. After a bright start to life at St. James’ Park, the German coach is going through a difficult period, having suffered three defeats in his last four Premier League matches.

Their only victory during that run came against Hull City at St. James’ Park, sandwiched between two identical 4-1 defeats to Leeds United and Coventry City. With the Magpies entering another weekend with Jaissle under pressure, they suffered another defeat, this time at home to Aston Villa, who secured a 1-0 victory.

Matthias Jaissle not under severe pressure

Newcastle United continue to have faith in Jaissle, according to recent reports about the under-fire manager’s situation. The Tyneside club are not expected to make a hasty decision about his immediate future and understand that he may need considerable time to rebuild the team following a turbulent summer.

In addition to Howe’s departure, Newcastle United lost several key and experienced players during the transfer window and struggled to convince some of their main targets to join. Despite the club’s late work in the market, Jaissle was handed a young squad with many players now facing the responsibility of performing in a demanding environment.

As a result, the Magpies are not planning to make a change and will continue to support Jaissle. The report also states that the club could have to pay a maximum compensation fee of £5 million if they decide to part ways with the German coach sooner rather than later.
