However, Slot’s stock soared during his spell with Feyenoord, spending three seasons at De Kuip and winning the Eredivisie title and the KNVB Cup. Those exploits earned him a move to Liverpool, and the Reds won the Premier League title in his debut season.
However, the Reds were dreadful in his second season at Anfield, failing to win a trophy and only managing a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League. The horrendous performances rightly invited relentless criticism, and the Merseyside club sacked him last week before Andoni Iraola took over as the new head coach.
