Predicted Manchester United lineup against Bournemouth: Sesko misses out again; Mount in contention

Benjamin Sesko will be a backup option on the bench for Manchester United when they take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Friday.

Manchester United will be eager to continue the brilliant start to life under Michael Carrick when they lock horns with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Friday night. Michael Carrick has no new issues hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Lisandro Martinez (calf) is the closest among the quartet to being on the cusp of returning to action, and he should be back after the international break. However, the Argentine international remains in the treatment room alongside Matthijs de Ligt (lower back) and Patrick Dorgu (hamstring).

Additionally, Noussair Mazraoui has been recovering from an illness and faces a late fitness test to determine his availability. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Carrick provided fitness updates on Martinez, de Ligt, and Dorgu.

The Manchester United head coach said, “It’s [a] similar [situation] really [with De Ligt] and frustrating for Matta. He’s obviously trying to work to get back but it’s just the back issue, really, that’s proving difficult. We’ll keep working as hard as we can, to get him back as quickly as we can.”

“[Lisandro is] closer, a lot closer. He’s getting there, so after this one. I think he’ll be alright. [Dorgu] is a bit further down the line but [Mazraoui] is just ill. He just wasn’t feeling too good today.”

Senne Lammens is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Manchester United lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Bournemouth on Friday. The backline will feature Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo in the double pivot, with Bruno Fernandes reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Bryan Mbeumo will lead the line for the away side against Bournemouth, with Matheus Cunha and Amad Diallo being the two wide attackers. So, Benjamin Sesko and Mason Mount will be among the backup options on the bench for the Red Devils.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Lammens; Dalot, Yoro, Maguire, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo; Amad, Bruno Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo
