Igor Tudor has a verbal agreement to manage Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have a verbal agreement in place with former Juventus boss Igor Tudor; the Croatian will initially sign a short-term deal.

Tottenham have been on the lookout for a new manager after having recently parted ways with Thomas Frank. The North London club have been linked with quite a few high-profile names, and it seems they have already figured out who their next boss will be.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Spurs have verbally agreed a deal with Igor Tudor to take charge as their new manager. He has been without a job since parting ways with Juventus towards the end of the last season, and is now set to resume his managerial career in North London.

Tudor started his managerial career as an assistant to Andrea Pirlo at Juventus. He was then handed the reins of Hellas Verona in 2021, and went on to manage the likes of Marseille, Lazio and Juventus. Things didn’t really go according to plan for him at the Turin-based club, as he could only survive in their hot seat for around seven months, managing just 24 games in total.

Since leaving the club, the 47-year-old has been patiently waiting for an ideal opportunity, and it seems to have finally come his way. Tudor has been offered the chance to manage in the Premier League, and he has jumped on that opportunity.

Tudor could soon take charge at Tottenham

Tottenham have offered him the job, and he has verbally agreed to become their new manager. He will not be handed a long-term deal just yet. For now, his contract will run until the end of the season. If he manages to impress everyone at the club, the Croatian manager could then pen a long-term deal with the North London outfit.

Spurs brought in Thomas Frank from Brentford in the summer with a lot of expectations. Sacking Ange Postecoglou after he ended their 17-year trophy drought by guiding them to the Europa League title wasn’t an easy decision. But they felt Frank was the one to take them forward. However, the move didn’t go according to plan.

Now they are looking to avoid a similar mistake. They are offering Tudor an opportunity until the end of the season to prove that he is the right man for the job.
