Predicted Chelsea lineup against Crystal Palace: Palmer, Chalobah to return; Joao Pedro up front

Cole Palmer and Trevoh Chalobah will return to the Chelsea starting lineup when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Chelsea will be eager to continue the solid start to life under Liam Rosenior when they lock horns with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon. Liam Rosenior has received a positive update on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Cole Palmer has recovered from a minor hamstring injury, and he should be fit and available to take on Crystal Palace. However, Filip Jorgensen (knock), Tosin Adarabioyo (thigh), Levi Colwill (knee), Romeo Lavia (thigh), and Dario Essugo (hamstring) are in the treatment room.

Additionally, Mykhailo Mudryk continues his suspension after failing a doping test several months ago. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Rosenior provided fitness updates on several players.

The Chelsea boss said, “In terms of sickness, the players hit by that are gradually coming back to full health. We’ve had to be very careful with that because Estevao was very ill, Jamie Gittens was very ill, and it altered our plans over the week in terms of what we wanted to do. Thankfully the lads have come through that, and so has Enzo as well.”

“Cole is in a good place. He joined in training today, which is really positive and we will assess his reaction to training after the session. Jorgensen has had his scan, and it was actually quite positive and not as bad as we first feared. He won’t be available for Palace this weekend, but he could potentially be okay for Napoli. Other than that, all is good.”

During his presser, Rosenior also provided fitness updates on Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia. The Chelsea boss added, “Dario has picked up a really unfortunate injury. He slipped in training and he’s going to be out for a while. We expect him to be out for over a month, which is a real shame because he’s an outstanding player.”

“Romeo is on the way back, which is great because he’s a very good, outstanding player at a very high level. I want him back as quickly as possible, of course, but I want him back with no more injuries. We don’t want to force him, we want him back where he can get into a flow of repetitive game time.”

Robert Sanchez will take his usual spot between the sticks, with Chelsea lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Crystal Palace on Sunday. The backline will feature Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, and Marc Cucurella.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in the double pivot. Cole Palmer will reprise the no. 10 role, with Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto being the two wide attackers. Finally, Joao Pedro will lead the line for the away side against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Badiashile, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Neto, Palmer, Garnacho; Pedro
