Crystal Palace may look to appoint 61-year-old Getafe boss Jose Bordalas as the next head coach amid uncertainties surrounding Oliver Glasner’s long-term future.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Jose Bordalas is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are scouring the managerial market for a possible replacement for Oliver Glasner amid uncertainties surrounding the Austrian tactician’s long-term future. So, the 61-year-old Getafe boss has emerged as a target for the South London outfit.
Jose Bordalas has established himself as one of the most polarising figures in La Liga over his two spells with Getafe. A native of Alicante, the Spaniard went under the radar during his professional career, which spanned nearly a decade and a half. However, the former striker has carved a distinct legacy for himself in the last three decades.
The 61-year-old has taken charge of his hometown club Alicante CF multiple times while also coaching several other small Spanish clubs. However, Bordalas has made his name during his two stints with Getafe, guiding the Azulones in several memorable campaigns in the past decade.
An ill-fated spell with Valencia spoiled his image, but Bordalas has resurrected his fortunes since returning to Getafe in 2023. Since then, the Spanish tactician has enjoyed a solid stint, taking charge of over 100 games while winning 38 times in the last two and a half years. Meanwhile, his stock in the market is high, and a Premier League adventure may be on the cards.
