Predicted Chelsea lineup against Everton: Palmer, Garnacho to return; Caicedo suspended

Cole Palmer and Alejandro Garnacho will return to the Chelsea starting lineup when they host Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea will be desperate to return to winning ways when they welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Enzo Maresca has new roster issues hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Moises Caicedo will complete his suspension after being sent off against Arsenal a few games ago. Meanwhile, Maresca is sweating over Wesley Fofana’s fitness after the Frenchman picked up an eye injury earlier this week against Atalanta. However, Maresca is hopeful that Fofana will be fit and available to take on Everton.

So, Levi Colwill (knee), Dario Essugo (hamstring), Romeo Lavia (thigh), and Liam Delap (shoulder) are the only players in the treatment room. Additionally, Mykhailo Mudryk continues his suspension after failing a doping test several months ago. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Maresca provided fitness updates on Fofana, Cole Palmer, and Delap.

The Chelsea manager said, “Cole is ok, he is better and he is available at the moment. We have one more session this afternoon. Yesterday he finished the session with us with a mixed feeling but overall he is ok.”

“He [Fofana] is available, he is fine. He took part in the session yesterday and is completely fine. We don’t know yet. It could be two, three, four weeks. We don’t know exactly how many days he [Delap] will need.”

Robert Sanchez is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Chelsea lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Everton on Saturday. The backline will feature Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, and Marc Cucurella. Chalobah’s penchant for regular contributions in the final third makes him a transfer recommendation in FPL.

As for the midfield unit, Andrey Santos will line up alongside Enzo Fernandez in the double pivot, with Cole Palmer reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Joao Pedro will lead the line for the home side against Everton, with Alejandro Garnacho and Estevao Willian being the two wide attackers. So, Pedro Neto and Jamie Gittens will be among the backup options on the bench.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Sanchez; Gusto, Chalobah, Fofana, Cucurella; Santos, Enzo Fernandez; Estevao, Palmer, Garnacho; Pedro
