Liverpool will have to fork out £10 million if they decide to part ways with Arne Slot following a poor start to the season.
Arne Slot’s future has become a massive talking point, as Liverpool have had a very disappointing start to the new season. Despite spending a fortune in the summer, things have not gone their way, and the pressure is slowly mounting on the Dutch manager.
Liverpool are considering parting ways with Slot, and according to a report from Fichajes, the Merseyside outfit will have to pay £10 million if they decide to sack the Dutch tactician in the near future.
Arne Slot had a sensational start to life at Anfield, as he guided the Merseyside club to the Premier League title in his first season in charge. While the 2024/25 campaign was exceptional for him and his team, it has been completely opposite this time around.
The Reds are 13th in the Premier League with only 18 points in their 12 outings. They have lost 10 out of their 20 matches this season. While reports earlier suggested Liverpool’s board were ready to back him all the way, they are starting to have second thoughts.
Liverpool are ready to sack Slot
Quite a few people at the club believe Arne Slot’s future hangs by a thread. They have already started looking for potential alternatives to replace him on their bench. The next two games are expected to be crucial for him to save his Liverpool job. If his team suffers two more defeats, they will sack him immediately.
The upcoming games against Sunderland and West Ham United at home are very important for Slot’s team, and he is preparing to ensure things go right. However, if they do not, Liverpool are ready to take the big call of parting ways with him.
While his contract runs until the summer of 2027, there is a termination clause worth £10 million. Given the high cost of terminating his contract, the Reds certainly can’t rush into a decision. They will have to ensure they have the right man ready to replace him before sacking him.
