Italian transfer expert Fabio Paratici is reportedly set to return to Tottenham Hotspur, with his ban nearing its conclusion.
According to Corriere della Sera via Sport Witness, Fabio Paratici could be set for a return to Tottenham Hotspur once his ban concludes. The Italian transfer expert previously served as the club’s sporting director before stepping down after losing his appeal against a FIFA-imposed worldwide ban.
Soon after retiring from football in 2004, Paratici began working as a chief scout for Sampdoria. He spent six years at the club before moving to Juventus to take up the role of sporting director.
He was a part of the Turin-based club for over a decade. During his time at the club, he did wonders for them as a transfer guru and played a massive part in some of their biggest moves. While he joined Tottenham in the summer of 2021, his time at the North London club was cut short after just a couple of seasons as he was forced to resign.
The 52-year-old was handed a 30-month-long ban at the start of 2023 because of his involvement in a capital gains scandal during his time at Juventus. While he did appeal against it, the decision stood and he parted ways with Spurs in April.
Paratici to re-join Spurs after his ban ends
He might have been banned from working in football directly, but the Italian has continued to be an outside consultant for Tottenham and has played a key part in some of their transfers from the Serie A in recent years.
Paratici’s ban will be over in July, and he is gearing up to officially make a return to football. The 52-year-old has been linked with several clubs in Italy, with many expecting him to return to Italian football.
But recent developments suggest he is set to secure a return to Tottenham, who value him quite highly and have been in talks with him. Daniel Levy has been working hard to ensure Paratici returns to the club.
