Tottenham are eager to lure Oliver Glasner by offering him a premium salary, as they strongly consider replacing Ange Postecoglou with the Austrian.
According to Sport Bild via Sport Witness, Tottenham are seriously considering appointing Oliver Glasner as their new manager. The north Londoners are prepared to offer the Premier League manager a premium salary and lure him away from Crystal Palace in the summer.
Ange Postecoglou’s future has come under a cloud of doubt as the Australian has not lived up to expectations in north London. On one hand, the Spurs boss has had massive injuries to his key players this term which is a big reason for their drop-off in performances, which has pinned them in the lower half of the Premier League standings.
Tottenham have doubts over Postecoglou’s immediate future, with suggestions that the Europa League campaign is the one helping him hold on to the role for now. Spurs have been linked with a host of names already, although there are challenges ahead in luring any of their preferred targets.
For instance, Tottenham are understood to place Andoni Iraola on top of their list, although Bournemouth are keen to renew his deal and keep him for as long as possible, which will make it challenging for Spurs to lure him in. They are in a similar boat with the likes of Brentford’s Thomas Frank, who is also someone they consider.
There are some overseas managers on their list, although Spurs could target a Premier League manager as Postecoglopu’s replacement. There are active links to former boss Mauricio Pochettino, and now, Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is the latest on their list.
Tottenham eager to lure Oliver Glasner
Crystal Palace are keen to keep hold of Glasner and are open to offering the Austrian a new deal. There were some links to RB Leipzig of late, although the Palace boss is keen to stay in England following his stellar job at Selhurst Park. Tottenham are eager to lure him in by offering premium wages, as it remains to be seen if money is the object for the Austrian ahead of the future.
Glasner comes in with plenty of experience much like Postecoglou, although his recent track record as a Premier League manager with Palace could be the catalyst in Tottenham wanting to appoint him. It remains to be seen whether Glasner wants the move or if he continues his project at Selhurst Park.
