David Weir has enjoyed an intriguing trajectory since hanging up his boots. A native of Falkirk, the Scot spent his professional career in his homeland and England, turning out for Everton between 1999 and 2007. He also represented the Merseyside outfit as the club captain under two managers.
The 54-year-old hung up his boots in 2012 before entering the coaching sphere. Weir took up coaching jobs at Everton, Sheffield United, Brentford, Rangers, and Nottingham Forest in different capacities before moving to a backroom role at Brighton & Hove Albion.
