Predicted Manchester United lineup against Leicester City: Dorgu set for debut; Bayindir in goal

Patrick Dorgu will make his Manchester United bow against Leicester City in the FA Cup fourth-round tie at Old Trafford on Friday.

Manchester United will aim to reach the FA Cup fifth round when they welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford in the fourth round on Friday night. Ruben Amorim has new injury concerns that are hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Lisandro Martinez picked up a season-ending knee injury last weekend. In addition, Luke Shaw has suffered a setback on his recovery trail, and the English international will remain on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

The defensive duo accompanies Jonny Evans (back) and Mason Mount (hamstring) on the sidelines. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Amorim discussed Martinez and Shaw’s issues. The Portuguese tactician also spoke about the possibility of handing debuts to winter arrivals Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.

The Manchester United manager said, “Licha is a difficult situation. He’s going to be out for a while. We don’t know the extent of the injury but it’s an injury that is going to take time. Luke, just a little bit, one small issue in a different area from the last injury, so we’ll try to be careful with Luke.”

“We’ll see. You guys have to wait for tomorrow! But they [Dorgu and Heaven] are ready to play and they are two more solutions to help us in this moment.”

Altay Bayindir will replace Andre Onana between the sticks, with Manchester United lining up in a 3-4-2-1 formation in front of him against Leicester City on Friday. The central defensive unit should feature Noussair Mazraoui, Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, with Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu being the two wing-backs.

As for the midfield unit, Manuel Ugarte and Bruno Fernandes should pair up in the middle of the park. Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Toby Collyer will be backup options on the bench. Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo will reprise the advanced midfield roles, with Rasmus Hojlund leading the line for the home side against Leicester City on Friday.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Bayindir; Mazraoui, Maguire, de Ligt; Dalot, Ugarte, Bruno Fernandes, Dorgu; Amad, Mainoo; Hojlund
