Tottenham considering Edin Terzic as Ange Postecoglou replacement

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering 42-year-old former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic to replace Ange Postecoglou.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Tottenham are plotting a move for 42-year-old German manager Edin Terzic as a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham have been quite disappointing this season, and Postecoglou is under tremendous pressure. The Spurs boss was backed significantly during the summer transfer window, and he was expected to help and push for trophies this season.

Instead, the North London club find themselves fighting for a place in the mid-table. Daniel Levy has a reputation for being trigger-happy, and it would not be a surprise if he decided to part ways with the Australian manager.

Meanwhile, Edin Terzic is currently out of a job since his departure from Borussia Dortmund. He has helped the German club reach the final of the UEFA Champions League in the past, and he could prove to be an interesting acquisition.

The 42-year-old was linked with clubs like West Ham United as well before they zeroed in on Graham Potter. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get a deal across the line. The opportunity to manage the Premier League club will be quite exciting for the German.

Spurs system needs to change

Tottenham have shown great improvement under Postecoglou in terms of playing style, but they have not been able to grind out results. Their high-intensity attacking system has cost them week in and week out. The Lilywhites have looked vulnerable defensively, and they have not been able to outscore teams every week.

The manager will need to turn things around drastically to hold onto his job. There is no doubt that they have a talented squad, and a manager with a more balanced approach might be able to bring out the best in them. There is no doubt that Postecoglou is a charismatic manager, but he will need to be more pragmatic with his approach at times to grind out results in difficult games.

A club of Tottenham’s stature should be fighting for Champions League football and trophies regularly. It will be interesting to see if they can bounce back during the second half of the campaign.
