Liverpool table £35 million bid to sign Milos Kerkez

Liverpool will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Hungarian international Milos Kerkez from fellow Premier League club Bournemouth in a deal worth £35 million.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Milos Kerkez is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are scouring the market for a left-back ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window. So, the 21-year-old Bournemouth defender has emerged as a target, with the Merseyside outfit offering £35 million to sign him from the Cherries.

Milos Kerkez and his intriguing career path

Milos Kerkez has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League since joining Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in July 2023. A native of Vrbas, the youngster was eligible to represent Serbia but chose Hungary as his national side. Interestingly, he spent his formative years in three countries, passing through academies of Serbian, Hungarian, and Italian clubs.

The 21-year-old turned professional at AC Milan but found a stable footing at AZ Alkmaar before rising in prominence at AFC Bournemouth. Kerkez has turned out nearly 50 times thus far for the Premier League club while chipping in with three assists.

In addition, the young full-back has become a regular for Hungary, making 21 appearances for his national side. Meanwhile, Kerkez’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Liverpool’s interest in Milos Kerkez is understandable. The Reds are scouring the market for a left-back amid Andrew Robertson’s advancing years. While the Scottish international turned 30 earlier this year, he has been showing signs of decline in recent seasons, compelling Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot to rotate him to stretch his peak.

Meanwhile, Kostas Tsimikas’s long-term future is uncertain, forcing Liverpool to scour the market for a left-back. So, Kerkez has emerged as a viable target, with the Merseyside club offering £35 million to sign the former AC Milan full-back from fellow Premier League outfit Bournemouth next year.

However, the Cherries want a higher fee than £35 million to part ways with the 21-year-old Hungarian international, slapping a price tag of £45 million on him. So, it will be interesting to see if the Reds raise their bids to prise the youngster away from the Vitality Stadium.
