Manchester United hold talks with Erik ten Hag alternatives

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is already under a lot of pressure after a disappointing start of the season.

The Red Devils are 12th in the league table and the Dutchman faces an uncertain future at the club. According to Daily Mail, Manchester United have held secret talks with multiple managers with a view to replacing Erik ten Hag at the club.

According to reports, they have spoken to the former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez, Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim, and the former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic. They are keeping tabs on the Brentford manager Thomas Frank as well.

It will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for either of these managers in the coming weeks.

It is evident that Ten Hag has not been able to deliver. He has been backed significantly in the transfer market and he has spent over £600 million on new signings. However, the manager has failed to get the best out of his players and Manchester United have been quite mediocre. A club of their stature is expected to compete for major trophies and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

They are not competing in the Premier European competition this season either. Judging by their performance so far, they might miss out on Champions League qualification for the next season as well. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Man United need a quality manager

Despite their current flight, they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and most managers will be attracted to the idea of managing them. They have considerable resources and they will be able to sign top-quality players.

Manchester United already have a talented squad at their disposal and a quality manager could bring out the best in them. It will be interesting to see if they can make the right appointment in the coming weeks. It would be ideal for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag to go their separate ways now. It is evident that the Dutchman has been a failure at Old Trafford and the appointment has clearly not worked out for either party.
